THE BRIEF:
A case study of Louis Kahn's Kimbell Art Museum, which identified the key design strategies which constitute its design.
THE SITE:
Forth Worth, Texas, USA
THE DESIGN:
A centrepiece of Modern architecture, Kahn's design concept was centred around the theme of capitalising the presence of natural light flooding the gallery spaces through the plexiglass skylights. Further, the barrel-vaulted porticos herald and reminisce the grand arches and vaults of Roman architecture.
